About Rand Casinos

An editorial team that reads registers and terms, a site paid by the operators it lists, and the rules that follow from both.

Rand Casinos is a guide to online casinos written in English for readers in many countries, and every page carries the same signature, "the Rand Casinos editorial team", because the pages are the work of a team that shares one method rather than of a single author. The domain was registered in August 2007, and the site has been online since then (nineteen years in October 2026).

What we do is read: the regulators' registers of licences, the "terms and conditions" (the contract a player accepts on registering) published by the operators on their own sites, the rules of the games with their arithmetic, and the notices of the authorities on what is allowed in their markets. What we have not done, for this site, is open accounts at the operators, deposit or withdraw there.

From a South African guide to an international one

The site was born as a guide for South African players, and its name still says so (the rand is the South African currency, in which the old pages counted deposits and bonuses). In October 2026 it was rebuilt from scratch as an international guide, with a structure and a method that the next sections describe. The reason is the law.

Online casino games are not authorised in South Africa: section 11 of the National Gambling Act of 2004 (Act 7 of 2004) forbids making an "interactive game" available without an authorisation, and the National Gambling Board recalled in February 2026 that interactive gambling remains unlawful until a legislative framework for it is adopted. A guide still sending South African readers to operators licensed in Malta, or holding a "permit" in Kahnawake, would be promoting an activity that the law of their country does not allow, and we did not consider it a choice we could defend.

Since the rebuild a reader connecting from South Africa is shown, in place of every page with operators, a page without operators on how to recognise an authorised one, what "self-exclusion" is and where to find help, and readers in the United Kingdom and Australia, whose laws leave no room for the international sites we present, are shown pages of the same kind; this page, the method and the legal notes stay visible to everyone, because they promote nobody. Readers in Ontario, Alberta, Québec and fourteen American states are likewise taken to pages of that kind (the one for Québec in French); each sets out the law of the place and the help that is available there.

How the site is paid, and what follows from it

Rand Casinos is a commercial site, and we prefer to say so here rather than in a footnote. When a reader opens an account at an operator through one of our links, the operator's "affiliate programme" (the scheme through which a casino pays the sites that send it new players) records the referral and pays the site a commission that costs the reader nothing. Depending on the programme, the commission is a fixed sum per new player (a "CPA") or a share of the operator's earnings from that player (a "revenue share").

Three rules follow from this. The first is that no operator receives a rating, a score or stars, since a score would need a direct test, with real deposits and real withdrawals, that was not carried out for this site, and a score published without it by a site paid by the operators would be an advertisement wearing a judge's robe.

The second is that the cards print the licence and not the amount of the welcome offer, which changes with the reader's country and with the calendar and means little without its conditions. A player who deposits $60 and accepts a "match" of $60 (a bonus equal to the deposit) with a "max cashout" (the ceiling on what a bonus can turn into) of five times the bonus can withdraw at most $300 from it, however lucky the session!

The third is that the lists follow the "regulatory frame" (the authority behind the licence, its register, the body that hears complaints), then the group and the platform; neither the size of a bonus nor the rate of a commission enters the order. If you doubt a review, the method page describes each step and the documents on which it rests.

Who owns the site

The site is owned and published by the party named below, which holds the agreements with the affiliate programmes and answers for what the pages say.

[OWNER: legal name, registered address and company or tax number of the site owner, to be written by the owner]

Corrections of facts, with their source, go through the contact page, and the disclaimer sets out what the site cannot promise, from the law of your country to the terms that only the operators can change.

Gambling, and where to find help

A guide to casinos has a duty that a hotel guide does not have, because the product it describes is built to cost the player money over time (the "house edge", the margin the operator keeps on average, is a price and not an accident). The responsible gambling page lists the limits, the national "self-exclusion" schemes and the free help lines, and in our view it is worth reading before your first deposit.

Questions

Who owns Rand Casinos?

The legal name and the registered address of the owner are given in the section on ownership of this page, while the pages themselves are signed by the Rand Casinos editorial team.

Is Rand Casinos paid by the casinos it lists?

Yes: the operator pays a commission for each reader who opens an account after following one of the site's links, the reader pays nothing for it, and the commission does not decide the order of the lists.

Can the site be read from South Africa?

Yes, in part: the method, the legal notes and this page are open to everyone, while each page that lists operators is replaced, for readers connecting from South Africa, by a page without them, since online casino games are not authorised there.
